RATS NEED TO SOLVE WINGS.(SPORTS)

Grasping for whatever edge they can find, the Albany River Rats can point to the extra rest they're getting prior to their American Hockey League playoff series against the Adirondack Red Wings.

Coach John Cunniff gave the Rats two days off following their regular-season finale Sunday, a 2-0 loss to Adirondack. The Red Wings, meanwhile, have to play tonight, but their home game against the Binghamton Rangers will have an impact on Albany.

If the Red Wings win, the Albany-Adirondack series will begin Saturday in Glens Falls. If the Rangers win or tie, the playoff series starts in Albany, and the opener won't be …
