US WEST TALKS CONTINUE.(Business)

Negotiators for two unions continued talks Sunday with US West, a phone company that operates in 14 states. A strike deadline passed, but union leaders told members to stay on the job.

Contracts expired for the Communications Workers of America and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers at midnight Saturday.

But the two sides worked two hours past the midnight deadline and resumed negotiations Sunday morning, said Ron Dulle, US West spokesman. He said he did not know what issues the two parties were stuck on.
